Welcome to Housetrends Indianapolis
It is our wish that each issue of Indianapolis Housetrends brings you enjoyment. It may be an article about someone living in your neighborhood, great gardening tips, or a photo that inspires a change in your own home.Just like most of you, we’re busy trying to balance the responsibilities of our work and our home life with time spent with friends and families all while shuttling our teenager from one event to another. But we feel strongly that it is important to take the time for the things we enjoy individually. And for both of us, that means going outdoors—but usually in two different directions.
Tammy pulls on her gardening gloves and plants bulbs, deadheads annuals, prunes flowering bushes and takes a moment to watch the wild birds enjoy her efforts. Jim laces up his hiking boots and goes a bit farther than the backyard—like maybe the Himalayas. A vacation for Jim is climbing, hiking and backpacking in the wilderness.
But our roots are deep in Indiana. Both of us are natives of Evansville and we’ve lived and happily raised our daughter in Carmel. Since she’s recently gotten her driver’s license and is currently making plans to go away to college, we’re making plans of our own.
We hope to visit our parents in Evansville more often and spend more time on our favorite charities. We are really looking forward to traveling more—hopefully together. Because while Eagle Scout Jim may be happy as long as he has a sleeping bag and fresh water, Tammy likes fresh sheets and room service.
We’re working on a happy medium we’ll both enjoy.
